Triarch Stalker mockup

so today i decided to try and run some Triarch stalkers in my necron army list (which ill talk about later) i find them filling a very key roll in the army which is ranged armor penetration. So here is my first mockup of the stalker. Any comments?

So now that my warriors are built, and based (basing pictures will come up later.) its time to pick a paint scheme. Which do you like better? Green or blue?

Step One: The Build

So my first step on my necron army is dealing with the green rods. I personally, hate them. So i found a way to make the guns less annoying. The below picture is what the warrior looks like out of the box with out the green rod. The first step is to cut the part of the gun the green rod rests on off completely, be sure to keep the part the hand holds onto and just a bit in front of that.
Next take the muzzle of the gun, and trim off the bottom part, from the prongs that hold the muzzle onto the gun to the bottom peg.

Now glue the muzzle to the spot the green rod starts at on the gun, making a "sawed off gauss rifle"

Retaking the Hobby- The Start of a New Project.

So recently I was given a new necron army by a friend of mine who didn't want to play them anymore. So i thought it would be a good time to start a blog and show my progress as well as to serve as a motivation for me to actually get a fully painted, converted, and based army. Here is a quick look at what is in the army, minus 15 immortals, 3 ghost arks, and 2 command barges.

So what makes this blog special? Well first off, i believe in "retaking the hobby" Its our hobby and honestly it should be fun, not the grinding hate ball of bad manners it is today...at least in my experience. As well as a learning and exchanging of knowledge among the community. So this blog is what i know how to do, and i hope that people will comment and add their own take on everything and maybe even make their own blog to post their ideas and knowledge. To that extent i hope that if you have a blog and wan't to get traffic on your site, post a link in the comments and lets strengthen the community!
